Our Brownsville Office: Sweet 16 and Still Going Strong

It’s hard to believe, but the Brownsville Branch became a part of Select Staff, the premier staffing service in the Rio Grande Valley, way back in 2003. In those sixteen years, we have become the primary source for light industrial, clerical and administrative positions throughout an area that includes:

  • Brownsville
  • Los Fresnos
  • Rancho Viejo
  • Olmito
  • Los Indios
  • Port Isabel
  • South Padre Island
  • Bayview
  • Matamoros, Mexico

Our nine professional staffing and recruiting representatives work diligently as strategic partners with area businesses—both large and small—to help them find the talent they need to meet their productivity goals.

And as an employer, we make our application process as quick and easy as possible. Applicants can start the process online and later visit the branch office for a face-to-face interview, along with a skills evaluation and background checks. Here at the Brownsville Branch, we like to make each of our applicants feel valued.

Under Maribel’s leadership, the branch has participated in the UTRGV and Brownsville Independent School District job fairs. They have sponsored the City Cruiser’s Autism 5K Run and are also a Brownsville Literacy sponsor. Also, they take part in numerous community and church events.

There’s a family atmosphere at the Brownsville branch

By its very nature, helping people find the right jobs is rewarding work. Beyond that, the professionals who work at the branch point to the feelings of comradery and of being a family as the primary reasons they enjoy working for Select Staff in Brownsville.

As Maribel tells it: “We all love working with a group of people who complement each other.”

Some amazing stories

According to the branch’s team, the only thing better than reaching the $1 million milestone was reaching $2 million, and then knocking down the wall for their expansion project. Some other amazing stories include:

  • Having a foreign exchange intern
  • Beach day with clients
  • Organizing a fundraiser for Nieto Day
  • Putting together a video for a corporate meeting
  • Raising $2,500 for one of our employees who was in a serious car accident
  • Finding housing for a homeless employee
  • Seeing one of our workers move up from a production to a managerial role
